Chickens and Books, FREE Sonic Game on Amazon!

Keeping it short and simple today because, frankly, I want to go read my new book, The Watchers by Jon Steele. This book was actually his first novel, from what I have read on Amazon, and so far it seems fairly interesting.
Not gonna lie, the cover was pretty so I bought it.
It seems to deal a lot with spiritual matters, and even though I am not one to be overly religious I do find that some books like this are more interesting than they'd be otherwise. I will give a nice review when I am done reading it. I personally got lucky and found this at Dollar Tree and it's a beautiful hardback edition with no damage on it whatsoever. LOVE Dollar Tree for random book finds.

I fed the chicks and their mama some scraps from a leftover frozen pizza today (cut it up so they'd have an easier time eating), and I snapped a fair picture of them. All you can see are eight babies, but there is a ninth behind her. We did lose two (one drowned but we fixed the issue with the water, the other was smooshed by something that fell on it), but these other nine are doing fabulous and are already getting in their second set of "real" feathers. Their mama is super protective too!
Judy and the brood. They were eating and let me get closer than normal.
I will be watching these guys closely to see how many hens we end up with; soon we will be overloaded with eggs and chickens to take care of! We desperately need to upgrade the enclosure to where the adult chickens won't fly out; currently only the babies are permanently contained in the pen until they are also big enough to fly out. My hopes are to keep them enclosed moreso to be sure that I can get all of the eggs possible and avoid excessive chick production. They are super cute babies and a whole lot of fun to watch. They loved getting some scraps tonight!

Today the Amazon App Store has a free download of Sonic CD the app. My almost six year old son is a huge fan of Sonic games for the computer, so it was a natural thing to immediately download this as soon as I found out it was free (you can always count on Hunt4Freebies with the hook up on free stuff). He's been playing it for ten or fifteen minutes already! He's an extremely smart boy and learns so quickly; I was not nearly as good at games as he is at his age.
Free today (5/17/15) only on the Amazon App Store!
This definitely wins me some brownie points for the day with my oldest. He is absolutely excited to play a new Sonic game. Sharing my phone with him is no easy thing to do, but if I make him sit at the table I can make sure he's only playing his game and not getting into other stuff.

Keep it freebie, go download Sonic CD for your babies - they'll thank you!
